"Legendary London club launches singles club in stylish generic space
age sleeve shock. Lucky 15 evoke Astrid Gilberto, the Cardigans and the
Compact Organisation; and the ghost of Serge Gainsbourg returns in Katerine,
a Moog/soundtrack French dream."

"This is Lucky 15's debut LP with six brand new tracks from
this trippy, groovy, cosmic threesome. Drawing influences from Debussy
to KLF, this is lavishly designed pop with heavy dance beats, sultry vocals
and a vision for the future. The London bsed trio hail from Japan and
the UK, giving the group a real trans global flavour and sense of humour. Monkey Magic take the vocals from the 70s kids series (remember
the Japanese guy on the pink fluffy cloud?). Other tracks include their
only previuos release - Snowflakes In Hawaii, the etheral Terge,
the jazzy Stereo 1-5, and the very cool Blue. If you're
looking for something upfront and groovy, it's your lucky (15) day."

"Quirky but nonetheless satisfying easy/dance sounds from
the London-based trio who faeture Japanese-born Cockney vocalist Yoshiko."

"You've gone to heaven. God, dressed in the dappermost smoking
suit possible, settles you on a chaise-longue, proffers a tray of brightly
coloured pills and starts discussing the meaning of cult television. 'Colour
Code White' is on the celestial stereo.
Like The Gentle People, Lucky 15 have a natural affinity for the drama
of E-Z lounge life in the electronic age. Swathes of climatic Hollywood
choirs, twinkling harpsichords and jiving double basses nestle up with
the latest gurgling synths and fizzing electronic rhythms. Breakbeat science
even makes an appearnce, powerine along the narcotic orchestral swirl
od 'Medication Through Resonance'.
There's also a darker twist to this music, from the empty nut-headed society
conversations of 'Stereo 1-5' to the strangely stilted acid-tinged cover
ofthe unwieldy theme from 'Monkey Magic', evidence that the chilled champagne
occasionally doesn't flow as it might it Lucky 15's world. But what a
world.
Future lounge funk from the fifthe dimension"

"...their music has all the Japanese playfulness of the compatriots
Pizzicato Five, though their influences are rooted in the present and
the classical past. Taketani's electronics draw comparisons with Yellow
Magic Orchestra on tracks such as Monkey Magic. Stereo 1-5 features lots
of sereo-panned conversations in a jigsaw which is never resolved, and
Blue is a breathy sub-boosanova chill-out trck. Varied in tone, this release
is distinctive eniugh to stand out from acts gathering on the increasingly
crowded junction of ambient, easy listening and jazz."
