"Winningly cheeky, swinging listening, brimming with Hammond organs and
the cheese-funk riffs, very much the kind of thing you might groove to
in the psychedelic top-floor of London's Blow Up club. More excellent
stuff from the Blow Up label, and if you haven't done so already, check
out the fun-lovin' club night every Saturday at the Wag [now moved to
T2 Bar]. Anyway, this album is probably a packet of prawn cocktail Skips:
a distinctive flavour of the past, not to everyone's tastes, but boasting
a pleasant melt-in-the-mouth quality."

"Another trawl through the library music archives of the late 60s and
early 70s. The perfect accompaniment to Monday nights in front of the
box watching The Sweeney."

"The second compilation from Blow Up, the top Swinging Sixties club night,
features more groovy instrumentals from their dancefloor. Vol 2 takes
the listener into the twilight zone of the unknown session man. These
recordings return to the vaults of KPM, introducing the DeWolfe, Amphonic
and Sylvester music libraries. The music on Vol 2 was recorded between
1968 and 1974 and was originally used by production companies for TV themes
and incidental music. The tracks were rediscovered through visits to second-hand
record stores and the libraries' archives; many of them have been made
available for the first time. Track listings include original descriptions
from the original sleeves: "Wild Elephants"--'Medium fast tempo, repetitive
theme'; "Funky Fanfare"--'Organ & rhythm section'."

"Blow Up have always favoured dancefloor suss over smart-arse irony. 18
tracks of cool, punchy rarities from 1968-74 here, all funkier than the
Bullitt theme on heat. Dance music for Get Carter fans.." (4 stars)

"More fantastic jazz oddities from decades ago which could suit an evening
where corduroy and port are necessities, as are the statements "cool",
"honey" and "stoke my poke, baby". Fine."

"Imagine that Seventies Sweeney chase scene, all Jags and "Shut It"s.
Or a multi-coloured Carnaby Street club shot with bad dancers and Austin
Powers outfits. Or a Michael Caine, scrapping in Get Carter. Isn't the
music always great? If you think so, then this hipper-than-hip selection
of TV/film library music from the Mod-ish Blow Up crowd should hit all
the right spots. Not so much Easy Listening as Easy To Dance To." (3
