'Leaving For A Day' Mockingbird, Wish Me Luck New Single
“Leaving For A Day” is a brand new track taken from the forthcoming new edition of Mockingbird, Wish Me Luck‘s debut album “Days Come And Go” which has now been expanded to include additional tracks. The album made the top five list of albums of the year for Sweden’s national newspaper Sydsvenskan.
Check out the video for “Leaving For A Day”, a compilation of footage filmed during the bands last visit to the UK, including a Rough Trade East in-store, an appearance at Dot-To-Dot Festival Bristol, a support slot with Camera Obscura at King’s College, a show at the Blow Up Metro Club on Oxford Street and an acoustic session at the V&A.
'BALTIC FLEET' - the debut album from Baltic Fleet out now
Following on from the release of the ltd. single debut ‘Black Lounge’/’3 Dollar Dress’ comes the release of the debut self-titled Baltic Fleet album.
“Paul Flemming has delivered a faultless piece of instumental music that captures the spirit of Eno, NEU! all the way through to modern post rock and chamber music. The album swerves from haunting piano pieces ala donnie darko full of melancholy to driving upbeat kraut inspired propulsive grooves. This is getting heavy rotation in rough trade east and is one of our tips for the top in 2008” Rough Trade East
“BUNNYMAN HAS FUN ON THE AUTOBAHN – Sombre, Sigur Ros-like-post-rock, fuzzy bass grooves [and] energising Neu!-style motorik.” Uncut
“This is just a great album – nothing that obviously sounds like anyone or anything else. Just a rather beautiful and rather recommended instrumental album.” The Organ
Album chosen for Rough Trade’s Album Club May 2008!

Baltic Fleet was asked to peform at Rough Trade East’s ‘Record Store Day’ on Saturday 19th April, followed by a DJ set from Irmin Schmidt (Can) & Kumo so in good company!

'DAYS COME AND GO' & 'PICTURES (TOO BIG TO FIT IN A SIGHT)' out now! (uk)
The ltd. debut single and debut album from Mockingbird, Wish Me Luck
Mockingbird, Wish Me Luck – an 8-piece indie-pop orchestra from Ängelholm, Sweden – release their debut album Days Come and Go on Monday 9th June, preceded by the limited single Pictures (Too Big To Fit In A Sight) on Monday 2nd June (features B-Side not on the album).
Unplugged version of “Pictures (Too Big To Fit In A Sight)”he ltd. debut single and debut album from Mockingbird, Wish Me Luck
Over the last few years, Mockingbird, Wish Me Luck have been recording songs, just a few at a time, describing themselves as “the slowest recording band ever”. Everything has done without any outside help and in the true DIY indie spirit – drums were recorded in their rehearsal room and almost everything else in their parents’ apartment. Despite their admittance that “nobody really knew which buttons to push”, by the time Blow Up Records made contact in early summer 2007, they had quite a collection of songs – both beautiful and unforgettable.
“Grand songs, delivered well” Stool Pigeon
“Short, sweet and perfectly formed” Nude
“Gorgeous indie pop. I could listen to this single for months and not tire of it” Swedesplease.net
“Suggests the potential to usurp KoC as Scandinavia’s finest exponents of indiefolk” Kruger
“Lovely, gentle folk inspired indie pop that invokes the idea of Jens Lekman fronting Belle & Sebastian. Simple as that” indieMP3
“A pop album for picnic days and warm nights of dancing with all the windows open” Kitten Painting

London’s Silvery release their debut album ‘Thunderer & Excelsior‘ – a 14-track blast of infectious eccentric British pop and an essential release for 2008. Crafted in their East London studio with Kevin Feazey and mastered by John Davis, the album features previous sold-out single ‘Horrors‘/’Orders‘ and their second single ‘Devil In The Detail‘ which will be released the same day and is strictly limited to 500 numbered 7″s. The single also features an exclusive B-side ‘The Squadron Leader’ not on the album.
‘Devil In The Detail‘ has been spun so far by Steve Lamacq (6 Music and Radio1), who has invited the band to record a session for his BBC Radio 1 show, to be broadcast a week before the album & single release, Marc Riley (6 Music) who has requested a session, Gary Crowley (BBC London), as well as Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie (Radio 2). Both sides have already been aired in the US too by KROQ legend Rodney Bingenheimer.

'ACTION FORCE'/'THE NOD' out now - The 3rd single from Silvery
download both…
After weeks of plays on BBC Radio (Lamacq, Riley, Lamarr, Crowley, Radcliffe & Maconie amongst others) and both BBC Radio 1 and BBC 6 Music live sessions, Silvery release their third single ‘Action Force‘, taken from their acclaimed debut album ‘Thunderer & Excelsior‘.
The double A-side is ‘The Nod‘, a new non-album exclusive recording of a live favourite. Its the perfect showcase for their unique and riotous Victoriana inspired sound and a worldview that suggests a heady concoction of British Sea Power through a filter of Sparks, Bowie, XTC and Blur at their punky fairground best.

“Action Force is my favourite rapid-fire, jerky pop song of the year”
Steve Lamacq (BBC Blog)
“More of their Victorian gentleman’s club brit pop, Action Force is a catchy slice off the London band’s well received recent album. The Nod is a previously unreleased goodness and one of their best tracks – if ever there was a model of a modern major general and all the Sparks that fly and the bits of early Blur and XTC and Jules Verne adventurer”
The Organ
“Tumble-dried Blur melting Sparks into liquid pop”

New Silvery EP 'The Nishikado' - Artocker.tv and iTunes exclusive!
Following their Christmas single You Give A Little Love last December, London eccentrics Silvery release their 5th single on Monday 15th June 2009, previously featured on a live BBC Radio 1 Lamacq session and a standout track from their much talked about debut album Thunderer & Excelsior (which made the ARTROCKER and ORGAN top releases of 2008 lists).
The Nishikado EP features a new mix of the lead song (inspired by Toshihiro Nishikado – the creator of Space Invaders in the 1970’s) and 3 brand new tracks: Identity, Murder Holes and The Public Purse.
Think Sparks at their most Glam Rock, mixed up with all sorts of musical tricks Blur and Bowie would be proud of.
Watch the video now exclusively on Artrocker.TV
EP. will be available 3 weeks early as an iTunes exclusive on Monday 25th May 2009 (general availability from 15/6/2009)
