20 Years Ago Today: First Ever Blow Up Release!

The Weekenders‘All Grown Up’/’Househusband’

The first release on Blow Up Records, released on 4th May 1994 and sold at a launch party at the Tuffnel Park Dome, London withThe Bluetones as guests + Blow Up DJs. The remaining stock was then sold as a mail-order release – a total pressing of a  1000 on 7″ Vinyl – Cat. No. BLOWUP001.

Produced and engineered by Vic Keary at the legendary Chiswick Reach Studios on 8-track tape.  The Weekenders: Paul Tunkin, James Hender, Chris Remington and Steve Smith. Both ‘All Grown Up’ and ‘Househusband’ were recorded as part of an eight song session in February 1994.

David Woodcock on Steve Lamacq’s ‘New Favourite Band’ – BBC 6music Wed 8th August

David Woodcockis confirmed as Steve Lamacq’s guest on BBC Radio 6 Music on Wed 6th August at 5.30pm. He’ll be interviewed for Steve’s ‘New Favourite band’ feature, coinciding with David’s debut album released the same week on Blow Up Records.

3 days later he’ll be playing at Blow Up in London for his album launch…

David Woodcock is up for the BBC 6 Music Rebel Playlist this week on the Steve Lamacq show with his forthcoming single ‘Relatively Single Man’!

The self-titled debut album from David Woodcock is available to pre-order now on CD (with signed postcard exclusive to Blow Up shop) and all good retailers! 

You can also pre-order now from iTunes and download the new single ‘Open Secret’ straight away.
