Daiquiri Fantomas will release their debut single Moon Raga on April 1st 2013, to be followed by their debut album ‘MHz Invasion’ this May on Blow Up Records. Daiquiri Fantomas are an experimental musical duo from Sicily, founded in 2010 by composers and multi-instrumentalists Marco Barrano and Dario Sanguedolce. Experimenting with acoustic instruments and vintage electronics crossed over with new technologies, their sound has a distinctive “retro-futuristic” flavour, giving a nod both to the 60s/70s (Progressive Rock, Sci-fi b-movies soundtracks, Kosmische musik etc.) and to contemporary electronica, the duo citing The Beatles, Kraftwerk, John Barry and Air as some of their favourite bands.
“Leaving For A Day” is a brand new track taken from the forthcoming new edition of Mockingbird, Wish Me Luck‘s debut album “Days Come And Go” which has now been expanded to include additional tracks. The album made the top five list of albums of the year for Sweden’s national newspaper Sydsvenskan.
Check out the video for “Leaving For A Day”, a compilation of footage filmed during the bands last visit to the UK, including a Rough Trade East in-store, an appearance at Dot-To-Dot Festival Bristol, a support slot with Camera Obscura at King’s College, a show at the Blow Up Metro Club on Oxford Street and an acoustic session at the V&A.
We’re pleased to announce that Rob Garza (Thievery Corporation) has asked us to give the Blow Up treatment to ‘Mother Of Illusion‘, the second single from his new solo project Dust Galaxy.
The Blow Up Mix is the first track on the 12″ version of the single and is also available to download (out now). The Blow Up mix team features Nasser Bouzida aka The Bongolian, Nick Terry (Klaxons, SMD) and Blow Up’s Mr. Paul Tunkin. You can currently listen to the mix on Dust Galaxy’s myspace.
Expect a psychedelic musical trip to the outer regions of the Funk galaxy, taking in spaced-out heavy Bongo rhythms and Latin Soul along the way – all 100% Original Dancefloor Rhythms. (Instruments featured include the Hammond, Bongos, Synthesisers, Vibes.) As always written, arranged, performed and produced entirely by Nasser at his Ramshackle Studios on analogue 8 track. The album was mixed by Nick Terry (Klaxons, SMD) at The Premises in Hackney, London. Please note, this album contains NO SAMPLES, just a groove that sounds good!
Due for release 2nd February (UK) on CD, LP (first 1000 pressing with poster) and Digital. Preview tracks now at myspace.com/blowuprecs

10th mar 2008 BALTIC FLEET– Baltic Fleet
Whilst on a World Tour playing keyboards for Echo & The Bunnymen, Liverpool-based artist Paul Fleming began to write what would come to be his debut album ‘Baltic Fleet‘. With a laptop and any instruments that were to hand he would capture, in music, what inspired him in each city around the world, and a sound was born influenced by artists such as Eno, The Doves, NEU!, Sigur Ros and DJ Shadow. SILVERY– album debut BIG BOSS MAN – 3rd album UNTITLED PROJECT – debut single & album
Download & ltd. seven available now – the double-A debut from London four-piece Silvery.
‘Horrors’/’Orders’ was the recent winner of Zane Lowe’s Fresh Meat and was The Organ’s single of the week:
“They’ve been one of London’s best kept secrets for a little while now, packed out gigs in Camden and such, building a genuine following and a really worth of mouth flow. Silvery make timeless English pop music, a slighty quirky edge, nothing that ever stops that pop flow though. They have a slightly eccentric charm, a bright palette, those not quite pristine bandsman uniforms and those chiming keyboards. The debut album is not far away now, this should more than wet your appetite.” The Organ
“What a little belter this is. Pure, head-on pop music, fabby guitar riffs, plumptious organ, verses, choruses, middle 8 – all present and correct. The AA side ‘Orders’ reminds me of early sparks, never a bad look. Intelligent stuff, quoting the right sources but never simply copying. This could be a very good year for Silvery. They should be filling the Radio 1 playlist in place of the ghastly Feeling. Buy this record.” Artrocker
