Springing from southend’s buoyant music scene (nothing but thieves, youth club, david woodcock) usselman is the moniker for multi-instrumentalist chris usselman – who, has written, arranged and produced a debut album of glittering alt electro-pop ‘all fun and games until everyone goes blind’

Ten futurist-tunes drawing from the synthesized gold mine of giorgio moroder, sparks and depeche mode, with the millennial edge and depth of rodion, ulrich schnauss and tycho on tracks like ‘mountains’ ‘wolf’ and sure-fire festival belter ‘the valley’

Includes singles to date ‘tongue tied’ and ‘with the tides’ and ‘wolf’ which have received radio support from steve lamacq bbc 6 music,  producers pick at bbc introducing essex, whilst international stations have supported radio alpa (france), byte fm + couch fm (germany), artefaktor radio, eu radio nantes (album of the week) as well as various college radio stations.

Mixed in london and oslo by kev feazey and nick terry – usselman’s ‘all fun and games until everyone goes blind’ could be the lost soundtrack to a sci-fi cult classic or a ready-made art-pop playlist – and is a welcome addition to the electronic unit of blow up records (baltic fleet, aspic boulevard, daiquiri fantomas).

Pre-orders of the LP and CD come with a signed post card by David Woodcock -Exclusive to Blow Up shop, while stocks last. 
The vinyl is a limited edition of 500 copies, pressed on 180g heavy weight black vinyl and includes an album download code.

‘With The Tides’ is the second single release from Southend based multi instrumentalist Chris Usselman who under the artist monikerUSSELMANhas created a debut album filled with a rich alternative pop intensity – ‘All Fun And Games Until Everyone Goes Blind’ (Summer 2018). Written, arranged and produced by Usselman, mixed in London and Oslo by Kev Feazey and Nick Terry.

Debut single ‘Tongue Tied’ (Dec 2017) received radio support from: Steve Lamacq BBC 6 Music, the Producer Pick at BBC Essex Introducing and various international plays across France, Germany and the US.

Alfa 9 return with their third album ‘My Sweet Movida‘. The Newcastle-under-Lyme based four piece are back with their Morricone-esque tinged cosmic country psych rock, that’s layered with vocal harmonies delivering what the band believe to be their strongest set of songs to date.

This their first release since ‘Gone To Ground’, which made Vive le Rock and Sound of Confusion best of the year lists in 2013 and saw the band featured in various magazines including Classic Rock and Shindig. They were interviewed by Steve Lamacq for his ‘New Favourite Band’ feature at BBC 6 Music around the album release and El Morocco (taken from Gone To Ground) later hit the BBC 6 Music playlist for a month as the band performed live at the Liverpool Psych Fest. 

Of the band’s debut ‘Then We Begin’ Clash described this as “A fully realised and hugely ambitious debut which succeeds on every level” whilst Shindig said “one of the best albums of the last decade”. The title track ‘Then We Begin’ and ‘Flasher’ from the album more recently surfaced in key sequences of the auto-behemoth that is The Grand Tour.

A first taste from My Sweet Movida’Smile Dog’is already receiving radio support from Gideon Coe and Guy Garvey at BBC 6 Music.

Usselman has recently turned into a live band with two live shows to date. Usselman will record a session for BBC Essex Sat 2^nd December.

The Wilds is taken from the 3rd Baltic Fleet album ‘The Dear One’ and forms a new EP that also contains brand new tracks ‘Viaducts and Pyramids’, ‘Geven Hill’ and ‘A La  Mortal’.
