Eight Legs – the eponymous debut single from four 18-year-olds from Stratford-upon-Avon. Eight Legs have an edgy sound reminiscent of The Smiths or The Cure and more recent bands The Libertines, Interpol and The Strokes. Their dark emotive lyrics complement their tunes perfectly, and will refuse to leave your head.

This limited self-titled debut single “EIGHT LEGS”, is released on 7″ only as part of Blow Up’s 45 Series, previous debuts on this series including The Rifles and Alfa 9

Boogie Woogie/Rock 'N' Roll'

Boogie Woogie/Rock’n’Roll‘ is a storming cut taken from Komeda’s second album, ‘The Genius Of Komeda’ – a short sharp blast of Swede beat and is backed by the more jazz influenced ‘Herbamore’, previously a Swedish-only release. This was the first time either of these tracks were commercially available on a single to the UK.

Hip Teens Don't Wear Blue Jeans

‘Hip Teens Don’t Wear Blue Jeans’ by The Frank Popp Ensemble stormed the charts in Frank Popp’s native Germany before being released for the first time in the UK on 7″ by Blow Up.

It was playlisted by Xfm at the time, and this seven became a big hit on the 60s soul scene in the UK and further afield. Consequently it now fetches high prices on eBay!

Indian Pop Bass

Taken from Volume 3 of the ‘Blow Up presents Exclusive Blend series, this Guy Pedersen release ranges from the smokey sitar haze of Indian Pop Bass to the funky wah wah workout of Les Copains De La Basse and showcases the bass maestro in top form. Both tracks were originally recorded for the French Telemusic Library in 1970.
