Awesome Moves

THE DEBUT NEON PLASTIX ALBUM

Neon Plastix release their long awaited Debut LP “Awesome Moves” after taking what seems like one hell of a siesta. From Doncaster, Neon Plastix have achieved a cult following both in the UK, Europe and USA, despite having only released 2 singles to date (Neon Invasion/Prick Tease, On Fire/Dream), even securing deals with E.A Games ‘Need For Speed’ and Sony Eriksson for use of their music. Neon Plastix have played multitudes of dates across Europe, including a spot at Glastonbury. After they declared an inevitable hiatus whilst some members finished college courses and such, the band have woke up and rubbed their eyes, dusted themselves down and are ready to release their debut album “Awesome Moves”

Neon Plastix look a little more like a band made up from children’s photo-fit illustrations rather than the next cool kids on the block, and they certainly don’t stray too far with their Manifesto. Spending more time writing happy accidents than leaning on walls, chewing gum all slack jawed, name dropping every cool band that’s dead and gone as an influence. These guys don’t seem to “do” serious, they’ve even been known to take exercise equipment on stage with them asking random people in the audience to get up and work out mid performance. “It should all be about having fun, we’re not the type of band who can deliver thoughtful and profound messages, we’re just about grabbing hold of a few minutes here and there and having as much fun with what you have”

Gentlemen's Gold

The third single from Doncaster New-Wave ElectroPop five-piece Neon Plastix, released just prior to the release of their debut album ‘Awesome Moves‘.

Full English Beat Breakfast

Big Boss Man released their third album ‘Full English Beat Breakfast‘ in September 2009. Recorded by the band at their Ramshackle studio and mixed by Nick Terry (Klaxons, SMD) at Studio 2 at The Premises, Hackney, London.

Making good use of their extensive collection of vintage (and temperamental) gear for Full English Beat Breakfast. Head honcho Nasser (a.k.a the Bongolian) plays mini-VIPFarfisa and Hammond organs, Wurlitzer piano, Moog synths and drums and percussion. Whilst driving fuzz guitar and bass beat is provided by bassman Scott Milsom “the Hawk” and guitarist Trev Harding. The band once again created a superb spaced-out selection of prime 60’s inspired dance floor tracks: Northern Soul vibes with ‘Black Eye‘, garage sounds with ‘The Bloater‘, Boogaloo with ‘Pies and Pastiche‘ and even samba with ‘Full Brazilian‘.

You Give A Little Love

The fourth single from Silvery, and originally released as a one-off Christmas single, the track also appears on the second Silvery album ‘Railway Architecture‘ that followed.

Action Force / The Nod

The third single from Silvery, both tracks appearing on the debut album ‘Thunderer & Excelsior‘.

Devil In The Detail

The second single from Silvery, released as a limited 7-inch (500 numberes) and released just prior to the debut Silvery album ‘Thunderer & Excelsior‘.

Thunderer & Excelsior

Released in August 2008 ‘THUNDERER & EXCELSIOR’ is the debut from London’s SILVERY – a blast of infectious eccentric British pop. The album showcases their unique and riotous Victoriana inspired sound and a worldview that suggests a heady concoction of British Sea Power through a filter of Sparks, Bowie, XTC and Blur at their punky fairground best. Crafted in their East London studio, the album features singles ‘Horrors’/’Orders’, ‘Devil In The Detail’ and ‘Action Force’/’The Nod’ which was described by Steve Lamacq as “my favourite rapid-fire, jerky pop song of the year.”

Pictures (Too Big To Fit In A Sight)

‘Pictures (Too Big To Fit In A Sight)’ is the debut limited single from Swedish indie-pop 8-piece Mockingbird, Wish Me Luck, released as a precursor to their debut album ‘Days Come and Go‘.

Whilst ‘Pictures’ is taken from their album, Side B ‘A Note In The Margin’ is only available on the single. The single won support from Gideon Coe and Tom Robinson on BBC 6music and Gary Crowley on BBC London.

Days Come And Go

Days Come and Go is the debut album from Mockingbird, Wish Me Luck an 8-piece indie-pop orchestra from Angelholm, Sweden (preceded by the limited single ‘Pictures (Too Big To Fit In A Sight)‘). Written by brothers in the band Daniel and Niklas Wennergren, everything has done without any outside help and in the true DIY indie spirit – drums were recorded in their rehearsal room and almost everything else in their parents’ apartment. Despite their admittance that “nobody really knew which buttons to push”, by the time Blow Up Records made contact, they had recorded quite a compilation of songs. These songs, along with some newly recorded tracks, form their debut album Days Come And Go. When the album was complete, Daniel and Niklas flew to London to mix the album at The Premises in Hackney with Nick Terry.

The debut went on to make the top five list of albums of the year for Sweden’s national newspaper Sydsvenskan and this year they release ‘Leaving For A Day‘ a brand new track, which will be taken from a new edition of the album which will be expanded to include additional tracks.
